PREPARATION PROGRAMMES

The Masters Preparation Programme is for postgraduate applicants about to begin studying at Essex. It is a short course which aims to prepare you for postgraduate study at university. It includes study and research skills for learning at masters level, and outlines the values and practices which underpin academic life at Essex.

The Skills @ Essex course is for current students studying at Essex and hosted on our internal Moodle site. This resource is designed to support your skills development during your time at the University. (Please note you will only be able to access this if you have a University of Essex account.)

The Essex Preparation Programme is for undergraduate applicants about to begin studying at Essex. It is a short six-week course to prepare you for undergraduate study at university and will take approximately 12 hours of learning. This can be spread over 6 weeks or completed at your own pace.

The University Preparation Programme is an online short course made up of six modules for students in years 12/13. The course covers independent learning, academic argument, revision skills, applying to higher education, student finance and budgeting as well as student life and transition to university.

The Further Studies Preparation Programme is a short course designed for students in years 10/11. The course covers transition to further education, independent study and revision skills, finance and budgeting, employability, communication and useful life skills.
