Within this section you will find information on the programme structure, handbook and other useful information.

The programme maps in this folder details when modules will be taught, where block placements will be held and the weeks when tripartites are due to be completed.
Please do use these to help you plan support and annual leave for your apprentice. If your apprentice chooses not to take their annual leave during the weeks indicated on the programme map they will then be expected to be at work for their full employed hours.

In the programme handbooks you can find all the information you need to support your apprentice across their apprenticeship. It details the compliance required across the apprenticeship as well as support and guidance that will support your apprentice to be successful.

These schedules detail all assignment's formative, submission and resubmission dates for the academic year 2024-2025.
Please refer to this to see what your apprentice has due in when over the programme.

This link takes you to the Pre-Registration OT placement page which details the placements that your apprentice will need to undertake. Here you will find a copy of the OT Placement Handbook. From October 2024 we will be using ePAD for all placement documentation.
Year 1:
- Initiate - 6 weeks
- Lead - 8 weeks
Year 2:
- Manage - 10 weeks

Healthcare students at the University of Essex have a responsibility to present themselves in a
professional manner that mirrors national and local policy on clinical uniform and workwear. This
responsibility is also set out in relevant professional and statutory regulatory bodies codes of practice and professional standards. The University's Code of Practice outlines the expectations of our professional learners. -

This infographic details what constitutes as OTJTH. The training plan for OTDA details the number of OTJTH that must be recorded for the programme. Your university days will class as OTJTH, but there will be learning opportunities in the workplace that will too. For example, mentor meetings, clinical supervision, professional discussions, attending training (in-house or external), shadowing etc. You must aim to record 7-15 hours per month of OTJTH from within the work place, which is in addition to your university days.
