Your interview will take place over Microsoft Teams so you won't have to travel to our campus for it. Each interview slot has an individual Teams link to access it, which you will have been provided with when you picked your slot. You may be kept waiting in the meeting 'Lobby' for a few minutes until your interviewer(s) is/are ready for you.
Your interview for the BSc Physiotherapy Programme will typically be conducted by a single interviewer in a private setting. We understand that some applicants may have concerns about being interviewed by one person. If you would like to discuss this or have any questions, please contact us in advance at sres@essex.ac.uk.
Alternatively, you are welcome to have a parent, teacher, or friend present during your interview as an observer only. Observers are not permitted to actively support or participate in the interview process.
We aim to ensure that all applicants feel supported and confident throughout the interview process.
Your interviewers will introduce themselves at the start of your interview and check your photo ID, before asking you a series of questions. All applicants are asked the same initial questions, but you may be asked an individual follow-up question based on your initial answer. Once we have asked all of our questions you will have an opportunity to ask us any questions that you may have. You might find it helpful to write down anything that you'd like to ask before your interview, in case nerves make you forget what you were going to say. Please note that at Essex we do not score you on your questions, so you do not have to worry about coming up with a quirky or unique question to impress us, but feel free to ask anything that you genuinely want to know and have not been able to find out on our website.
Your interview will normally last around 15-20 minutes in total, but may be up to 30 minutes long.
